• Offset the tailstock by 1°–1.5° for correct broaching alignment  
• Pre-drill holes 3% larger than broach size for hex broaches  
• If exact-size pre-drilling is required, add a 45° lead-in chamfer  
• Proper setup ensures smooth broaching and clean internal profiles
