• Offset the tailstock by 1°–1.5° for proper broaching alignment  
• Pre-drill hole 10% larger for square broaches  
• Pre-drill hole 3% larger for hex broaches  
• If exact-size drilling is required, add a 45° lead-in chamfer for smooth entry
